12:10 pm - Back again..
Just got back after spending Thursday-Sunday on Sweden's largest musicfestival, Hultsfredsfestivalen. Compared to last years festival, I must say that this one were real quiet even though some quite big names played. I guess 10,000 people less do make quite a noticeable decrease in workload for us who worked in the medical tent.
Anyway, I love the festival. People are there to have a good time and to party, not to cause trouble. 23,000 people congregated together in quite a small space over the course of four days with less than 200 incidents over all (with most security incidents being trespassing and the most serious one being a rape attempt), it's a very friendly and open atmosphere.

This year, I got to see quite a few more bands than I did last year; my working hours was better in that regard.. Ozzy Osbourne (who had a throat infection and sounded a bit like a weak crow), Korn (yay!), Black Label Society (even more yay! Zakk Wylde!), Wolfmother (darn they're good!), Suicidal Tendencies (back to the hardcore roots) among a few.

Naturally, I forgot my camera at home this year, so I have no pictures to show, which is a shame considering a picture is worth more than a thousand words. However, you can peek at the offical pictures and homepage at http://www.hultsfredsfestivalen.se

Am I going back next year? Hell yes.

9:30 pm - Taming the beast..
I've recently aquired the RC-fly, and I'm really hooked on RC modelling, in particularly helicopters. Sure, airplanes are pretty nice too, but helicopters are more of a.. challenge I think (yes, I'm quite on the clear about crashing; it's not a question about if, it's more of a question of when).

I bought the above helicopter today, a Raptor 30V2 (I haven't attached the canopy yet). Heard it was a real good and stable newbie helicopter. I haven't tried it yet though, and probably won't in a few weeks. At least not until I'm really comfortable with hovering in my Reflex simulator!

10:27 pm - Dynamic Pics is born!
I just found out that my company finally been registered! Now I'm offically a CEO, personnel manager, union representative, salesman and accountant all in one package! I'm quite excited about it all.

It's a freelance photography company which will sell both contracted photographs and stock photography both over the counter and over the Internet. Hopefully, I'll get my site up for it very soon!

Some genius cut the fiberoptic to my internet Sunday evening, and it has been down for a few days. Seems like they finally fixed the problem now though!

10:48 am - Some people..
.. just make me more than just plain ol' sick. They make me embarassed to be human. I read something very disturbing a few days ago, and it's not until now that I can take things into perspective and think about it logically. Still, it doesn't make sense how we people treat each other. And treat our beloved animals.
What have made me so upset? Well, the, hopefully isolated, incident in St Paul, MN. A 17-year old girl whose best friend for the past four years is her Australian Shepherd dog, which she really loves. One day, the dog wanders off, and is gone for weeks. Naturally, the girl is griefstruck, posts posters on bulletin boards ect in case someone seen her dog. She rides the bus a few days every week to the local shelter to see if he's there, but no, he's still missing. Last week, she finds a box on the porch of her grandmother who she lives together with. On top of the box is some batteries, and a note reading "Congratulations Crystal! This side up, batteries included". She opened the box, which was filled with Valentine's Day candy, and the head of her missing dog.

Now.. what sick person would ever, ever do something like that? It's like a bad, B-rated horror movie, with the exception that the above is true. The authorities are looking at this case as a terrorist threat crime though, and homicide detectives are working on it. Hopefully, they catch the one who did this and put him away for a long, long time. Or better yet, a vigilante gets his hand on him first.

3:03 pm - That icky spam..
This have been going on for a good while now, but yet I haven't really figured out a way to deal with it in an effective way; I get quite a number of spam mail with an embedded image file in it that contains the spam, usually an advert for a stock or something similar. The subject and body is filled with text quoted from books or something, so my spam killing proxy (CanIT) isn't picking it up as spam. Is there anyone who have any idea on how to fight this type of spam?

3:50 pm - It's a dogs life..

Finally, I've completed the postprocessing of my photographs from the Sofiero International Dogshow in Helsingborg. Two days of barking, yapping, disappointment and happiness for the ones who was participating in the show.

Over 10,000 attendants and 4,500 dogs competing marked it one of Swedens largest dog shows.

You can have a peek at some of my photos by following this link!

7:04 am - Winds of change?
Finally, the whole Swedish election circus is over, and what's clear is that the right wing parties (M, Fp, Kd, C) have won the battle over the voters. The socialdemocrats, having ruled Sweden for the past 12 years is now handing over the rod of power. Hopefully, it's for the better. The Swedish politics, both foreign and more importantly the domestic one, have been rapidly declining into nothingness the past 3-4 years.

Lets see if this change of government and cabinet can bring new winds to this country; if not, there's always a new election coming up in a few years.

4:13 pm - My vote is in
Finally, I've tossed in my vote to the government election here in Sweden, and I'm glad to have closed that chapter and left it behind me. For a number of months, one have been bombarded by politicians with their sugarsweet promises about a new era under their command.. yeah, right. The politic, if one should call it that since the left- and rightwing political blocks and parties here isn't exactly as clear as they was 10 years ago; instead, they've blended it all together to some sort of populistic dogma. The voting offices close at 8 pm this evening, and the preliminary result should be in around 10 o'clock tonight. No matter who wins I'm quite certain that things won't change much. But oh boy, am I glad to not having to listens to political discussions and politicians running their mouth just to get votes in the next four years.

9:14 am - A new interest of mine...
I've started to get really interested in amateur radio, and I'm seriously considering to get myself a radio amateur license as soon as I've found a club near my area. So many questions I still have after trying to read up on the subject though.. about how long does it take to get certified? What would a good starting HF radio be, and how much money should one epxect to put on it? Since I live on the fifth floor in an apartment, what antenna would suffice?

So many questions about my newly found interest.. but I really do find HAM radio to be enjoyable which would keep my interest as a nice hobby methinks!

8:56 am - What don't one do for ones parents...
Another morning.. and a Sunday morning to boot. Which will be filled with busy-ness for me. My birthday was five days ago, and I haven't really had any time for any party because of work and stuff, so I'll have my parents drop in this afternoon. I promised to cook something for them so lets see if I can whip something yummy up.. I've been thinking about chicken breast in a bed of mango.. I've done it before and (for a change) it turned out quite tasty. Ask me for the recipe if you want it!

I woke up this morning after having quite a good nights rest, and I feel a lot better from my cold today. I think it'll be a good weekend, if it wouldn't be for the fact that I have to work today.. oh well, the clock will eventually reach 9:30 pm today too when I get off my shift.
